Australian producer Cabu joins forces with Ta-ku & Jakarta Records’ joint creation, 823 Records, to present Cabu’s sophomore EP “So Far To Go”, a tour de force featuring a prime lineup of down-under artists.
Musically, the Extended Play features Cabu’s bouncy, hypnotic grooves and is a return to form for what “Cabu” represents: a driving force in the pursuit of happiness through sound.
Cabu’s fanbase has continuously grown over the past few years through features on Australia’s Triple J, DJ Complexion’s Future Beats Radio, Soundistyle, The South East Grind, Mutual Friends, ThisSongIsSick, Majestic Casual, Soulection Radio, BBC 1xtra, Pilerats, Maison Kitsune and more. To that end, “So Far To Go” features some of the most talented artists to come out of the Pacific continent, such as Milan Ring, Young Franco, Kamaliza, NOÉ, Gabby Nacua, Pastel and of course label-head Ta-ku himself.
This EP truly is a synthesis of great collaborators and creative powerhouses; fusing between infallible dancefloor ready anthems and contagiously bouncy grooves while showcasing a well-honed, jubilant R&B / Soul aesthetic. Cabu has developed a finely tuned ear in bringing together different sounds cohesively.
823 Records, say’s Ta-ku, was created to “celebrate the simple beauty of everyday life and the people in it that inspire us” making it the perfect home for “So Far To Go”, which will surely have bodies moving into the new year.
